Carpe diem.

Subconsciously there can be two days of the week that cause discomfort or hurt.

The first is yesterday – when we remember mistakes we made, and the feeling of regret, embarrassment and shame.

We can’t do anything to change the past however, we cannot undo what we’ve done or what we’ve said.

The second is tomorrow – tomorrow brings unknown challenges, which we often perceive bigger than they are in reality. Like a mountain we have to climb, full of uncertainties and hurdles.

What is left is today – we all face today and what is happening RIGHT NOW. And this is where we can make a change. Because often when we face a period we are feeling low we are bringing in thoughts and feelings about yesterday or the fear of tomorrow.

But what if we perceive today as TODAY, we could just give it our best shot. And appreciate the beauty in life, ourselves and every moment we live through. What does today have in store for us?

There is one certainty in life, the sun will rise again tomorrow. Every day offers us a fresh chance to make different choices, to show different behaviour and to improve on what we were doing yesterday.

The emotions we’re feeling about yesterday and tomorrow do often teach us something about our underlying needs. What should we be doing today to make peace with our inner self when we feel discomfort about either?
